Efficient Climate Control for large-volume buildings
Background
Large warehouses can be challenging to heat and cool efficiently due to high ceilings, heat loss and air stratification.
Conventional solutions can struggle to deliver consistent temperatures, often consuming more energy than needed in a constant battle to raise or cool the temperature at operational level, while excess heat builds at high-level.
Solution
Temperature Stratification Driving Excess Humidity
After a thorough assessment of our client's business need, building layout and fabrication, we designed and recommended a system utilising the Powrmatic AirRoteX-H Air Rotation Heat Pump. The AirRoteX-H combines a 150kW air source heat pump, 90kW gas burner and two 75kW internal coils.
Air rotation distributes conditioned air evenly throughout the 8m-high warehouse, while the hybrid configuration provides flexibility to balance heat pump and gas operation according to demand and conditions.
We presented our client with a detailed proposal outlining the benefits of the solution and system design, including the impact on their decarbonisation strategy by reducing the reliance on conventional all-gas solutions.
Installation
The installation process was carefully planned to minimize disruption to the client's operations. The key steps included:
1. System Design:
We designed a custom system tailored to the specific needs of the building and business, taking into account the size and layout of the building, the location of workstations, and the client's desired temperature bandwidth
2. Equipment Placement:
The Air-RoteX-H was strategically positioned in the facility to provide optimal performance
3. Full Installation Process:
All work carried out to standard with full compliance to Health & Safety requirements
4. System Testing and Commissioning:
After the installation was complete, we thoroughly tested the system to ensure that it was functioning properly and meeting the client's requirements. We also provided training to the client's staff on how to operate and maintain the system
Result
The installation has delivered more consistent temperatures throughout the warehouse while reducing reliance on gas-only heating.
The client is extremely satisfied with the system performance and the level of service provided by Inergy Group. They have reported a significant improvement in temperature stabilisation and both comfort and energy efficiency.
This installation demonstrates a practical route towards more effi cient, lower-carbon heating for large industrial and warehouse environments.
