Evaporative Cooling: Brilliant Breezair
Our Client’s Goal
“Reduce the high temperatures in our facility to maintain our product quality and improve the working environment for the staff.”
Our client specialises in custom plastic packaging solutions for food and consumer product hygiene, safety, protection, and convenience. This makes it vital they choose the right evaporative cooling system for their business. Their main operations include injection and blow moulded plastic packaging production, operating within the food and drink, personal care and beauty, and homecare sectors. These processes automatically result in a high heat gain. Combine this with a relatively new production facility with modern insulation, and the internal facility temperatures were becoming unmanageable.
The Inergy Design Solution: Evaporative Cooling
Following discussions with the on-site team, Inergy Group conducted an initial site survey to see the production area and take detailed measurements and reference images of all key areas. Back in the office, calculations were completed to contribute to a bespoke design solution to solve the noted problem of high heat gain and to supply the facility with the clean filtered air required.
The Inergy Group solution involved the design of the following key elements:
The natural cooling system employed is the Breezair unit from Seeley International.
Breezair is the world’s coolest, quietest and most energy-efficient evaporative cooler. Seeley International offers a full series of high-performing Breezair evaporative coolers, and as such, Inergy Group are proud to work solely with this brand.
But how does it work? Based on the principles of evaporation, hot and dry outside air is drawn through water-soaked cooling pads. As the air is pulled through these pads, the water evaporates, and the heat is absorbed, lowering the air temperature. A fan then pushes the cool air throughout the building via a network of ducts.
Why F7 Filtration? The F7 three-layered filtration system provides fine filtration with a high dust-holding capacity and offers energy-efficient air filtration. This is an important specification for our client as their products are used in the food and beverage industries.

What is Injection and Blow Moulding?
Injection moulding ranks as one of the prime processes for producing plastic items. It is a fast process used to produce large numbers of identical items, from high-precision engineering components to disposable consumer goods.
Blow moulding begins with plastic being melted and extruded into a long, continuous tube. This tube is then captured by closing it in a water-cooled mould. Air is then blown in, inflating the plastic core to take on the shape of the mould.
Both plastic moulding manufacturing methods are high-energy-intensive processes, creating significant heat as a by-product.
Controlling and managing this heat output is the primary goal for this pivotal project, for which Inergy Group is proud to be our client’s preferred partner.
Health and Safety Considerations
Our IOSH-accredited engineers provided project-specific method statements and risk assessments, which were clear and easy to follow. The main contractor, health and safety manager, and all Inergy operatives implemented a QA sign-off procedure, ensuring complete transparency over the document control and, ultimately, everyone signed up for a safe installation.
During the project, Inergy Group ensured a high level of health and safety was maintained, protecting the integrity of the building and supporting the client to continue their normal operations throughout the installation.
Project Management and Evaporative Cooling Installation
Inergy Group were equipped to manage the project from start to finish, including design, build, installation and commissioning.
Our dedicated team carried out numerous activities to ensure the suitability of the proposed solution. A fit for the future project design was delivered that would achieve the client’s goals and maximise value.
Following the project implementation, our client is extremely pleased with the result.
The environment in the production facility is transformed. This has had a tremendously positive impact on the workforce and the quality yield of the final products. We are looking forward to a continuing relationship with our client both regarding servicing and maintaining this new equipment and additional spaces within the footprint of the size.
